British Arrows is an organisation that celebrates the best in moving image advertising in the UK. Since 1976, they have honoured top advertising agencies and production companies across a variety of categories.

British Arrows first came to us back in 2020 for their original website build. Five years on, with the organisation growing and their needs evolving, they returned to Little Website Co. to redesign and redevelop the site from the ground up. The existing site had served them well, but it was time for something more flexible — a refreshed, modern layout with greater editorial flexibility, simpler navigation across a large volume of content, improved accessibility, and a way to properly showcase their historic awards archive spanning decades.

The homepage was redesigned to put editorial content front and centre, giving the team full control over what's featured and when. Navigation was simplified so visitors can quickly find what they need, whether that's upcoming events, recent winners, or the archive. Each event now lives on a single, dedicated page that evolves over time — from the initial announcement through to post-event coverage — with clear navigation and flexible call-to-action sections to guide visitors at every stage.

One of the biggest challenges was making thousands of historic awards easy to browse, search, and filter. The archive is managed from Airtable and synced into the site, giving the team a familiar and powerful interface for maintaining a vast dataset without touching the CMS directly. Individual film pages were optimised to put the film itself front and centre, with metadata and award given the same prominence.

The British Arrows team were really pleased with the outcome. The site feels modern and polished, but more importantly, it's easy for them to maintain and update day-to-day — which was always the priority.
